The Creatory at Rand Steam is an Urban Art Project. In this dynamic space, we host two artists per residency. In collaboration with Westpack, Moolman Group and Candice Berman.
Invited guest artists occupy and transform this space into an artist’s studio for 3 months.
Alongside the art-in-the-making will hang completed works by the artists so viewers can see their style.
Each artist is given a workpackincluding sponsored materials from Westpack with which to create a spherical artwork to form part of the permanent Residency collection. Blank polystyrene balls are hung and will be decorated by each artist participating in the residency.
After every residency, an Open Studio event will take place on a Saturday from 10:00 –15:00 at Rand Steam.
Here, we welcome the public into this project space to “Meet the Maker” and engage in the artist’s creative process.
